Every three years, the GEF/UNDP/IMO PEMSEA conducts the East
Asian Seas (EAS) Congress, a pioneering region-wide platform for
capacity-building, strategic action and cooperation for the
sustainable management and development for the region’s seas.
The congress brings together government ministers and high-level
officials; heads of regional, international and non-governmental
organizations; experts; and private sector/civil society
representatives for comprehensive forums, plenary sessions,
workshops and seminars.

PEMSEA is organizing the Congress together with the State Oceanic Administration
of PR China, the Hainan Provincial / Haikou City government, and over forty (40)

Application for
financial support has been closed. However, we may provide you an endorsement
letter to assist you in campaigning for support from other possible sponsors. By

for attending the Congress, completed registration form and the full contact
details of the sponsoring organization.
